One of the distinctive products of this area is the rosé wine called “Valtènesi Chiaretto,” obtained mainly from the native Groppello grape variety, also sees the presence of Barbera, Marzemino and Sangiovese grapes.
Valtènesi is characterized by three macro-areas that influence both the geography and the organoleptic characteristics of the wines. The lacustrine zone produces delicate and mineral wines, while the piedmont zone is distinguished by more fruity wines. Finally, the hillside zone offers structured wines with hints of ripe fruit.
